No, it's not the best thing on the road, or the most desirable. My dad drove this for many years. Wasn't even his only one. Found this picture lying around, couldn't leave it unscanned.

Is that the rare "Freewheelin" Pinto Wagon that was only available from 78-80?

This was before I was even a thought in the world, and before either of my older sisters were born. Sadly, I know nothing about the car. It was sold not long after my oldest sister turned 4. She vaguely remembers the porthole window in back.

Are the Taurus wagons really that bad? I mean, I think the Pinto Wagon sets the bar pretty high for ugly wagons.
I'm window shopping for a good condition Magnum lately. Once late April comes, I'll start looking much more seriously. Already have a place to put it if I find a deal early.
I'm just picky as all hell and want a RWD R/T.

There's one of these for sale in my town . I've never seen it driving around, however.

What I can definitely say about it is that I know for certain it wasn't a V6, and it had a manual trans. If there was a 4cyl option, it was the first one to get ticked by my dad. Back when he was "younger" and more "active" he only drove manuals, and 4cyl cars. It's also a requirement for most of the cars we have. In fact, only the minivan has a V6, and he'll cuss that thing all day long for being a POS. All other cars are regular 4 bangers. Both Mini's, the Neon and Civic.
I can't wait to have a V8 and get over that.

There is no more 70's wagon available on the planet than that
